Coroner IDs 8-year-old killed after being hit by car in Kettering

KETTERING — The 8-year-old girl killed after being hit by a car in Kettering Sunday has been identified.

Around 1 p.m. Kettering police and fire were called to the 1200 block of Imperial Boulevard to reports of a 8-year-old girl hit by a car, according to a spokesperson for Kettering Police Department.

The girl, identified by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office as Jozlyn Vickers, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation by police, but at this time no charges have been filed against the driver, a spokesperson previously told News Center 7.

Vickers’ cause of death has not been released.
