UPDATE @ 12:09 p.m. (April 2):
There will not be a criminal investigation after a package delivered to the Kettering Walgreens on Far Hills Avenue shut down the store temporarily Monday afternoon, Kettering police said.
Officers responded to the business around 5 p.m. after receiving a report of a package appearing to be from Mexico was leaking a powder substance.

While the store was closed the Dayton HAZMAT team responded and it was determined the leaking substance was a common protein powder, which contained a zinc compound, said Lt. Lee Sanders with Kettering police.
“It was determined the substance was not a biohazard and the store was reopened,” Sanders said.
INITIAL REPORT:
Two Montgomery County hazmat units have been dispatched to the Walgreens in the 4400 block of Far Hills Avenue in Kettering on a report of a suspicious package with powder in it.
News Center 7's John Bedell reports that police have been entering and exiting the business, which appears to be closed.
The incident was dispatched just before 5 p.m. as a suspicious package with powder in it, according to a county regional dispatch sergeant.
