The program is designed to save lives, and since it was started in 2007, the county has given out nearly 1800 rides.
In the last five years overall in Montgomery County, there have been nearly 3000 OVI-related crashes, resulting in the death of more than 180 people.
The program gains popularity every year.
“I’m happy to see that so many of our community are making the smart decision and doing the right thing and getting home safely after celebrating with alcohol,” Heck said.
The program offers a $20 Uber voucher, which can get anyone from one side of the county to the other, according to Heck.
The program runs from 6 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Dec. 26.
