The Preble County Public Health is investigating the outbreak and is working with the facility to test everyone and prevent the spread of the virus, according to a release from Preble County Public Health Commissioner Erik Balster.

Thirteen residents and two employees tested positive for COVID-19 but are all asymptomatic.

The positive tests were confirmed through (RT)-PCR tests rather than the rapid antigen test, Balster stated in the release.

Residents were tested because the two employees had tested positive for COVID-19.

Testing through (RT)-PCR tests will continue as well as contact tracing.

Long-term care facilities are an area of focus for the Public Health response due to the age of residents and high rate of infection, according to Balster.
