COVINGTON — A 10-year-old autistic boy scored a special touchdown during the Covington Buccs youth football game against the Arcanum Trojans Sunday.
Lucas Bryant, a player the Covington Pee Wee team, has a feeding tube and is unable to tackle or be tackled, according to his grandmother Mary Bryant Arnett.
Just before the second half of Sunday’s game, the teams set up for a play and Bryant was able to score a touchdown as his teammates blocked for him as he ran down the field.
“His teammates are little boys with the biggest hearts,” the boy’s grandmother said. “They are all behind Lucas in school and on the field”
As Bryant crossed into the end zone his dad was waiting and walked back the sidelines, wiping the tears from his eyes.
