IDs released in deadly, head-on crash in Beavercreek

BEAVERCREEK — The front-seat passenger of an SUV was killed and the driver critically injured after a head-on crash with a FedEx truck late this morning on Dayton Xenia Road in Beavercreek, according to police.

The passenger was identified as 60-year-old Keith Edward Piguet of Xenia.

The crash was reported around 11:10 a.m. in the 2500 block of Dayton Xenia Road just west of Factory Road.

Police said a green SUV traveling east on Dayton Xenia Road crashed head-on into a stopped FedEx truck, facing westbound.

The passenger of the SUV died from their injuries, according to Beavercreek police. The driver of the SUV suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the FedEx truck suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to investigators.

The identities of those involved in the crash were not immediately released, pending notification of family.

The crash blocked Dayton-Xenia Road for around three hours. The roadway reopened around 2 p.m.

The crash happened near Beavercreek High School but did not involve anyone with the school and did not disrupt busing or commuters at dismissal, according to a Beavercreek City Schools spokesperson.
