Crews battle electrical fire in basement at Dayton home

Crews battled a house fire Friday afternoon in the 100 block of Sherman Street.

An electrical fire was reported around 2:49 p.m., according to Montgomery County Regional dispatch.

Upon arrival, light smoke was showing from the rear.

Fire crews were able to locate a small fire inside the basement walls due to a large electric wire that shorted out, dispatch said.

No injuries were reported.
