UPDATE @ 9:41 p.m.: No one was injured as flames from a makeshift fire pit burned a garage and high winds spread those flames to two sheds, District Chief Mike Fasnacht said.

The owner of the residence in the 300 block of Illinois Avenue left for work in the morning assuming the fire in the pit was out, Fasnacht said.

Winds intensified the flames, which spread to an exterior garage and two large sheds, one storing wood, the district chief said.

Flames were visible to the rear of residence and the hillside, but the house was not damaged.
