DAYTON — Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash near Day Air Ballpark Friday night.
Around 10:15 p.m. Dayton police and medics were called to East Monument Avenue and Webster Street for reports of someone hit by a car, according to Sgt. Creigee Coleman with DPD.
When police arrived on the scene they found a male and female on the ground.

Coleman said medics provided life-saving care and took both of them to a local hospital.
Their conditions are currently unknown.
Witnesses described to police the vehicle that allegedly hit the two and it was located near the scene.
The driver was taken into custody and will undergo testing to see if they were impaired at the time of the crash, Coleman said.
Police said at this time it does appear that alcohol was a factor in this crash.
“I want to stress at this point and time there’s been several alcohol-related crashes lately ... this could have been avoided had they possibly had a designated driver or they would have decided not to drink and drive,” Coleman said.
