SPRINGFIELD TWP. — A family of three was displaced in a Friday night house fire near Springfield.
The fire was reported around 8:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of Meadowbrook Drive.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family.

The fire started in the basement of the home on a cul-de-sac.
Crews put out the fire, but were continuing to douse flare-ups. The home had additions put on through the years, and the fire was between the walls.
