Crews rescue 2, dogs, 2 cats and 5 kittens from Moraine house fire

MORAINE — UPDATE @ 1:25 p.m. -- July 18:

Fire inspectors are still investigating the cause of the fire, according to Moraine fire. The cost of damage is currently unknown.

UPDATE @ 6 p.m.:

A neighbor spotted a fire coming from a garage and alerted a man and his grandson to get out of the house.

The occupants had to rush out and leave their pets behind, but Moraine firefighters were able to rescue two dogs, two cats and five kittens.

Damages were extensive to the home and garage.

UPDATE @ 4:50 p.m.:

Moraine fire crews rescued kittens from a house fire and reunited them with a little girl.

FIRST REPORT -- July 17:

Fire and heavy smoke are reportedly coming through the roof this afternoon of an attached garage.

Crews were called around 4:15 p.m. to a single-story home the 5000 block of Lauderdale Drive in Moraine.
