OD’ing passenger causes crash on I-75 ramp in West Carrollton, OSP says

WEST CARROLLTON — UPDATE @ 9:15 p.m.

A passenger suffering an apparent drug overdose tonight caused a crash tonight that said two people to local hospitals, troopers said.

A woman’s front seat passenger started to OD and become combative, which led her to lose control and crash around 9 p.m. on the ramp from Dixie Drive in West Carrollton to southbound Interstate 75, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.

The man was given Narcan, an overdose reversal drug, and taken to Miami Valley Hospital. The woman was taken to Sycamore Hospital. The couple, both 28 and believed to be boyfriend and girlfriend, were on their way to Miamisburg at the time of the crash, the patrol said.

Troopers said the man caused the crash, but it’s not clear what charges, if any, he may face.

FIRST REPORT

Crews were called tonight to a report of an injury crash on southbound Interstate 75.

One person has been taken to a local hospital in the single-vehicle crash, West Carrollton police said.

According to initial reports, a vehicle may have struck a wall.
