CLARK COUNTY — Crews began to search the river after an empty canoe found in the water near Enon Road.

After searching nearly 3 miles of Mad River, Bethel Twp. Fire Chief Jacob King said there is no evidence that there is a stranded canoer after an empty canoe was discovered in the water.

King said based on the canoe’s condition, it had possibly been sitting on the riverbank for some time. The recent rain could have washed it into the river.
