The first round of snow is expected in the next 24 hours, and it will be followed by a possibly stronger one this weekend, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Ryan Marando.
We could see snow accumulations of a half-inch to two inches on Friday. Marando says it is too early to talk specific numbers about the second storm. It is expected to move into the region late Sunday into Monday.
News Center 7 spoke with Paul Huelskamp, Miami County Engineer. He said the county has a bigger salt barn and thousands of pounds of salt ready to go.
They also want drivers to know crews will need space to work.
“They need to stay back away from our trucks. If you see our trucks out and we’re spreading salt and everything. As the people, please stay back away from the trucks, especially as they approach intersections,” said Huelskamp.
He had this advice for everyone.
“Take it slow. That’s what we do in our plow trucks. And we suggest everyone else do that on the roadways,” said Huelskamp.
News Center 7 also spoke with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Their crews are also standing by for whatever weather comes our way.
