UPDATE: Occupant escapes early morning house fire in Kettering

KETTERING — Crews responded to a house fire in Kettering early Tuesday morning.

Initial emergency scanner traffic reported the fire on the 1400 block of Bauer Avenue just after 5:00 a.m.

Battalion Chief Nathan Cox with the Kettering Fire Department told our crews on scene one person was inside when the fire started, and they were able to get out.

One dog is still unaccounted for, according to crews on the scene.

Reports say that heavy fire was coming from the back of the house when crews arrived.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined at the time of reporting.
