The cause and manner of death have not been determined, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, which released the ID this afternoon.
The fire was reported about 12:15 a.m. at the home in the 3200 block of Old Troy Pike. Sink and his dog died in the fire, Riverside Fire Chief Dan Stitzel confirmed to News Center 7.
Jerry Sink, who identified himself as Mark Sink’s brother, told a News Center 7 videographer that Mark Sink was a smoker and a retiree who was on oxygen.
Mark Sink lived alone with his Chihuahua “Buffy,” Jerry Sink said.
An initial investigation showed that the fire started in the living room. The cause is under investigation but Chief Stitzel said the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
