SIDNEY — A Sidney woman is dead after a house fire overnight.
Kimberly Fogt, 61, of Sidney, was identified as the woman killed in the fire, Sidney Department of Fire & Emergency Services announced Friday afternoon. She was the only person in the house at the time of the fire.
Crews were called to a fire at the cross of Sophia Avenue and East Court Street just before 1:00 a.m., according to the Sidney Fire Department.

When crews arrived at the fire they advised there was a possibility of at least one person trapped inside. That’s when fire crews initiated an aggressive fire attack and searched for the victim.
Once crews found Fogt, they removed her from the house and determined she had died.
The fire had caused extensive damage to the structure according to Sidney Fire.
One firefighter was taken to Wilson Health for smoke inhalation and has since been released.
The fire remains under investigation.
