UPDATE: 2 killed as car goes airborne in crash from Route 4 to Stanley Avenue

DAYTON — Two people were killed in a crash that sent a car flying through the air from State Route 4 to Stanley Avenue Sunday morning, according to a Dayton Police crash report.

Charlie Roark, 21, and Jayme Laurent, 28, were killed in, the Montgomery County Coroner’s office said.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of State Route 4.

When approaching the Stanley Avenue, Roark changed lanes and drove off the highway, crashing through a guardrail before going airborne, the crash report read.

After hitting the ground on Stanley, the car rolled as it crossed the road and came to a stop just west of the road.

Both Roark and Laurent were thrown from the car during the crash, police said.

The cause of the crash has not yet been released.
