Woman critically injured in single-car crash on Riverside Drive

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 12:40 p.m.

A woman in her 30s was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash late this morning on Riverside Drive.

Witnesses said the woman had been traveling around 90 mph in the north lanes and weaving around traffic before the crash. She apparently lost control and went over the median and into the south lanes, where she crashed into two trees.

The debris extended for a block and a half.

One witness said the car’s engine was between 200 and 300 feet from the car, and the transmission was 500 to 600 feet away.

Police surrounded the wreckage with yellow tape while they investigated the crash. The woman’s name has not been released.
