Vacant house fire considered suspicious, rekindles in Huber Heights

HUBER HEIGHTS — UPDATE @ 2:15 a.m: A house fire that occurred on Rip Rap Road Sunday night and rekindled hours later into Monday morning is considered suspicious, officials confirm.

Crews responded to the vacant structure located in the 6000 block around 8:30 p.m. and found a well-involved fire with visible smoke and flames.

The fire rekindled at approximately 1:30 a.m. early Monday. Crews were able to put the flames out quickly.

There were no reported injuries. Damage estimates were not immediately available.

The fire remains under investigation.

INITIAL REPORT: Fire crews responded to a well-involved fire in Huber Heights Sunday evening.

Crews were dispatched around 8:30 p.m., and are on scene in the 6000 block of Rip Rap Road.
