Deputies: rollover crash caused by driver hitting center wall

JEFFERSON TWP. — UPDATE @ 7:35 a.m.:

According to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to eastbound U.S. 35 on a report of a vehicle on its top at around 4 a.m. Officers found a brown Chevrolet Impala on its roof.

After investigation, the officers found that the Impala had traveled left of the road, struck the cement wall in the center of the highway and flipped.

The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.

UPDATE @ 5 a.m.:

Officers on the scene said that one man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash that left the vehicle on its top and in flames.

Police could not say a definite cause for the crash, but no other vehicles were involved.

The incident remains under investigation.

Emergency crews are responding to a report of a car fire on eastbound U.S. 35 at Infirmary Road in Jefferson Township.
