DAYTON — Firefighters are responding to a fire in Downtown Dayton.

The fire was reported in the just before 11:30 a.m. at the old Mendelson’s building on E. 1st Street.

Jeff Lykins, Director and Chief of the Dayton Fire Department, told our crew on scene that they were call out in regards to a fire on the roof.
Lykins said workers were cutting a vessel on the roof and it caught fire. He said while there was some kind of rubber in the vessel, he was not sure what else it contained.
No one was injured in the fire.
