Deputies suspect alcohol as a factor in Arcanum rollover crash that hospitalized man

ARCANUM — UPDATE @ 5:49 a.m.:

A man is in the hospital after a possibly alcohol-related rollover crash that trapped him in his truck early this morning.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded with Arcanum Rescue and Fire crews to a report of a single-vehicle accident with injury in the 3500 block of state Route 49 at about 1:53 a.m. They called for CareFlight soon after.

Preliminary investigation found that Joshua, Dembski, 38, of Eaton, was driving a white 1994 Ford F-150 northwest on state Route 49 north of Delisle Fourmans Road. According to the sheriff’s office, Dembski lost control of the vehicle, traveling off the left side of the roadway and striking a utility pole before coming to rest.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, the sheriff’s office said.

Dembski had to be extracted from the vehicle by non-mechanical means by Arcanum Fire and Arcanum Rescue. CareFlight transported him to Miami Valley Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Crews are responding to a report of a single-car rollover crash in the 3500 block of state Route 49 in Arcanum with entrapment.

CareFlight has been dispatched to the crash.
