2 injured, displaced after Riverside apartment fire

RIVERSIDE — Two occupants of a single-story apartment complex were injured during a fire on Eisenhower Drive Sunday evening.

Riverside Battalion Chief Jim Hart said the occupants were transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The extent of their injuries are unknown.

Regional Dispatch said crews were dispatched to a structure fire at the Overlook Homes property on Eisenhower Drive at approximately 7:12 p.m. on Sunday.

Hart said the fire was contained to the unit it started in and did not spread to any of the remaining three units in the Riverside apartment building.

The occupants were displaced due to the damage caused by the fire.

The cause of the fire, as well as its origin within the apartment, are under investigation.

Our crew on scene reports heavy smoke, as well as some flames coming from the residential building. The exterior of the building is damaged.
