West Carrollton home considered total loss in early-morning fire

WEST CARROLLTON — Firefighters were called to a house fire early Saturday morning in the 100 block of Robert Street.

Firefighters arrived around 1:15 a.m. and discovered heavy fire on the front of the structure.

According to Capt. Nick Sanders with West Carrollton Fire Department, a house next door was also damaged in the fire.

Sanders said there were three people inside the house at the time of the fire and all managed to make it out safely through a bedroom window.

The American Red Cross was called to help the residents.

The fire started at the front of the house and the structure is considered a total loss.

Firefighters said the fire remains under investigation.
