DAYTON — A home was destroyed after it became engulfed in flames early Saturday morning in Dayton.
Initial emergency scanner traffic indicated the fire on 100 block Sherman Street started at approximately 5:05 a.m.
Dayton Fire District Chief David Wright said that when crews arrived on scene, the house was fully involved.

The house has now been slated for demolition to make it safer for the homes on either side of it, according to Wright.
Details on the cause of the fire have not been made available at this time.
