Crisis Intervention Training for law enforcement starts this week

Law enforcement from 11 different departments in Montgomery County will be participating in Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) this week, according to a release.

CIT provides law enforcement with the knowledge and skills for responding to a person during a mental health crisis.

Participants learn de-escalation techniques, mental health law, and dealing with the dually-diagnosed.

Attendees in this class include the Sheriff’s Department, Moraine, Metroparks, Butler Twp., Dayton Airport Police, Miami Valley Police, University of Dayton Police, Vandalia, Grandview Police, and Sinclair Community Justice Training Academy.
