Church members collected boxes and food items from local community members Sunday morning at Bellbrook Middle School.

Meal boxes collected were filled with foods like frozen turkeys and side dishes to make Thanksgiving dinners. Additional boxes were filled with nonperishable items to stock local food pantries throughout the holiday season.

News Center 7 caught up with Jordan Baker, the 10-year-old boy who helped to collect donations while he went trick-or-treating this year.

Baker said he enjoyed helping make sure people got to have food for Thanksgiving.

“It feels good to be able to have a part in feeding people that can’t afford the meal,” Baker said.

All the food collected Sunday will be distributed to thousands of people through local partners and organizations.
