DAYTON — Students garbed in green crowded the streets and porches of the University of Dayton’s student neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
Many gathered to take part in the yearly St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Last year students were warned against the celebration by the university due to COVID-19 and safety concerns.

In an email sent out to students last year, the university provided guidelines such as no more than 10 people on your lawn and a warning to keep sidewalks clear or you could face criminal charges.
It is unknown if UD sent out any cautionary emails to students this year.
Photos from the celebration show crowds gathered and multiple Dayton Police Department crews in the area.
