Darke County man found guilty of aggravated murder

DARKE COUNTY — A Darke County man has been found guilty of aggravated murder in connection to the death of his wife on April 24, 2020.

Richard Bowman, 59, of Mississinawa Twp., was arrested and indicted for the murder of his wife, Teresa Bowman, 60, in the couple’s home on Disher Road in June 2020.

News Center 7 previously reported that a forensic examination revealed her death was the result of strangulation.

A Darke County grand jury deliberated for seven hours after a full week of testimony.

Bowman’s bail was revoked immediately after the verdict and he was taken into custody.

Bowman will be sentenced at a later date.
