VANDALIA — The Dayton Bomb Squad was called to the Super 8 Motel on E. National Rd. in Vandalia Saturday around 8:30 p.m. to investigate a suspicious item.
Vandalia Police told News Center 7 that crews were initially responding to a trespassing call, but an officer saw a suspicious looking can that prompted them to call the bomb squad through protocol.
Lt. Dan Swafford with the Vandalia Police Department confirmed that the building was evacuated and there were no injuries.
