The American Red Cross explained that every two seconds, someone in the United States needed blood or platelets. Moriah Hudson, the Dayton family’s daughter, was one of those individuals.

She had a rare blood condition and often needed blood transfusions. Her family, who went through the process of transfusing her blood while she was alive, said she survived 27 years because of the many donors who offered their blood through donations to keep her alive.

“We don’t even know who they are. That’s why I just had to thank God for them,” Tonita Hudson said. “I don’t know who they are. Like who goes in and just gives lays back and gives blood, but that’s an unselfish person. That’s a person who cares about people. And, that’s a person who saves lives.”

Moriah passed away November of 2021.

In honor of her memory, the family scheduled a blood drive for tomorrow at Revival Center Ministries on Oakridge Drive in Dayton.

Walk-ins would be welcomed; however, anyone intending on coming to the blood drive could make an appointment online.
