Dayton father accused of assault in shooting of his son

A Dayton father accused of shooting his son has been indicted on criminal charges Monday, according to a Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office report.

James K. Eason, 66, is formally charged on three counts of felonious assault in the Sept. 20 incident on Gard Avenue in Dayton.

His son, Kermit, 39, was initially taken to a hospital suffering from serious injuries. He is no longer listed as a patient at Miami Valley Hospital.

James remains in the Montgomery County Jail, according to online jail records.
