Dayton Fire Department participates in ‘Great American Relay’ today

DAYTON — The Dayton Fire Department is hosting a baton-pass point for runners involved in the “Great American Relay” that began in Boston, Massachusetts on Sept. 11.

The relay commemorates the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

A ceremonial passing of the baton is taking place in front of Dayton Fire Station 4 on Sept. 22, according to a news release from the Dayton Fire Department.

Uniformed members of the Dayton fire and police departments are providing an escort for the runners through the streets of downtown Dayton.

The event will take place at 2:25 p.m.
