Dayton Live, owners and operators of multiple live performance venues in the area will no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test to gain admission into shows starting later this month.
The changes to the organization’s health and safety policy will go into effect Nov. 22. After that date, audience members will no longer be required to show a vaccine card or proof of negative test. The policy had been in place since Oct. 1.
Audience members over 6-years-old will still be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status, except when actively eating or drinking.
Dayton Live owns and operates the Schuster Center, Victoria Theatre, the Metropolitan Arts Center, which is home to The Loft Theatre; and the PNC Arts Annex; as well as the Arts Garage.

Dayton Live announced it will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for entry into Dayton Live venues, which includes the Schuster Center, beginning Oct. 1.
“Our health and safety policies will continue to be regularly evaluated and adjusted based on community health data, and public health and government guidance,” said Dayton Live President and CEO Ty Sutton. “Based on continuous audience surveys, we know our audiences want us to put additional safety measures in place. This is where we need to be right now – for the safety of our audiences, staff, volunteers, and performers.”

Dayton Live owns and operates the Victoria Theatre; the Metropolitan Arts Center, which is home to The Loft Theatre; and the PNC Arts Annex; as well as the Arts Garage.
Masks also will continue to be required to comply with the city’s mask ordinance for visitors ages 6 and older.
“We’ve been cautious and took a wait-and-see approach before adopting these procedures and requirements. Whether you’re vaccinated or not, regardless of your reasons, we want you to feel welcome to attend any performance in our venues,” Sutton said.

People attending shows will need to present you vaccine card or a photo of your vaccine card on your phone along with an ID showing you are fulling vaccinated.
“Fully vaccinated” means that on the date of the performance, a guest has received their second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, at least 14 days prior, Dayton Live said.
Negative test results will need to be provided by documentation that includes your name, test result and date and you will also need your ID. The tests need to have been given by a third party or virtual proctor. Dayton Live said self-administered tests will not be accepted.
A negative COVID-19 antigen test must be taken within 24 hours of performance time or a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of performance start time.
