Dayton man indicted for rape, kidnapping

DAYTON — A Dayton man was indicted on rape and kidnapping charges, according to a Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office press release.

Darrion Oliver, 38, was indicted by a Montgomery County Grand Jury on two counts of rape by force and one count of kidnapping for sexual activity.

On July 15, the 21-year-old victim went to a concert at Oddbody’s, according to the release. The victim was reportedly going to get an Uber home, but Darrion offered to give her a ride.

Instead, Oliver drove the victim to a Gondert Avenue residence and sexually assaulted her, read the release.

The victim reportedly was able to get a ride home from someone else and then called 911.

Due to Oliver’s previous convictions, all three counts in the indictment have Repeat Violent Offender Specifications, according to the release.

In 2007, he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and child endangering for causing his 4-month-old daughter’s death, read the release.

Investigators reportedly believe that Oliver has raped other victims. Anyone with information should contact Det. Zachary Williams of the Dayton Police Department at 937-333-1264.

Oliver is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 7 at 8:30 a.m.

He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $750,000 bond, according to the release.
