The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a one-vehicle crash on state Route 232 in Monroe Township at 3:12 p.m., a spokesperson for the department said.

State Troopers arrived and found one man dead at the scene after his motorcycle crashed.

The preliminary investigation showed that a 2017 Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer motorcycle traveled northeast on state Route 232 when it failed to turn on a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail.

Terry M. Aikins, 67, of Dayton, succumbed to his injuries and died. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were assisted by Monroe Township Fire and EMS, Washington Township Fire and EMS, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department, and the Clermont County Coroner’s Office in their investigation. The crash remained under investigation.
