Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley announces run for Governor

DAYTON — Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley has announced she will be running for Governor in the state of Ohio.

“I’m running for governor because I’m ready to do something. I’m ready to do something to take on gun violence. To fix a broken economy. To fight corruption and criminality in Columbus. To make Ohio a place we can all be proud of,” Whaley said in a tweet Monday morning. “It’s time for a little Dayton toughness in Columbus.”

Whaley had previously announced she will not be running for another term as Mayor.
