DAYTON — Dayton National Cemetery will host a wreath-laying ceremony Saturday afternoon.
Dayton National Cemetery, an official Wreaths Across America (WAA) location, will join more than 3,500 others in the practice as part of National Wreaths Across America Day, the event’s spokesperson said.
Guests can go to the Dayton National Cemetery monument in the 4400 block of West Third Street just before 12 p.m. to attend the ceremony. The ceremony will start sharply at noon.
The ceremony will feature a performance by the Color Guard.

The event will be coordinated and led by local volunteers.
Fundraising groups have also contributed to the ceremony, paying for about 3,250 veterans’ wreaths to be laid on headstones, the spokesperson informed.

Members from each branch of the military and other dignitaries are expected to attend.
There are also currently 1,700 volunteers registered to attend, the spokesperson said.
