DAYTON — The Dayton Fraternal Order of Police has started a fundraiser to help support Det. Jorge Del Rio’s family following his death.
Jerry Dix with FOP Lodge 44 launched a GoFundMe page Thursday afternoon with the goal of raising $75,000 for Del Rio's family.
“100 % of the proceeds will go to the wife and family of Det. Jorge Del Rio,” Dix wrote on the GoFundMe page.

Del Rio is survived by his wife, five daughters, three granddaughters and another grandchild on the way, Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl said.
“We request that community members hold his family, friends, colleagues and fellow law enforcement officers in thought, prayer and heartfelt care,” said a statement from the police department.
