Officer, 1 other injured in crash involving Dayton police cruiser

DAYTON — An officer was injured after a crash in Dayton Tuesday afternoon.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5, a Dayton police cruiser and another car crashed at Germantown and Broadway streets around 4:05 p.m., according to police on the scene.

A cruiser was traveling on Germantown Street — without lights or siren as it was on regular patrol — when a Subraru turned left and struck the cruiser.

Each vehicle only had one person inside.

Both the officer and the other driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Dayton police spokesperson.

This is the second crash involving a Dayton police cruiser in the last week.
