Dayton Police Department promotes 4 officers

Four Dayton police officers were promoted Wednesday at City Hall.

Lt. Joseph Wiesman, a 27-year veteran, has been promoted to major. He has earned the department's medal of valor and officer of the year award.

Wiesman will be commander of the East Patrol Operations Division.

Two sergeants, Steven Bauer and Christopher Malson, are promoted to lieutenant.

Bauer will work in the West Patrol Operations Division and Malson in the East Patrol Operations Division.

Bauer recruits officers and Malson is a SWAT and academy instructor in addition to being a SWAT team leader.

Officer Terry Bartlett, an eight-year veteran, has been promoted to sergeant. He will also work in East Operations.
