The woman told the dispatcher she was driving along South Broadway Street when she saw the man who appeared to have been shot. Someone, she said, helped her get the man into her sedan.

“He’s talking to me! He’s alert!” she said as the dispatcher worked to get information from her.

The woman said she knew the victim but didn’t know who shot him.

While continuing to drive and give commands to the victim -- “keep talking to me, OK?” -- she identified herself as a nurse and asked the dispatcher to send a medic unit to meet her because the victim was “bleeding everywhere.”

The dispatcher told the woman she had to stop so police and a medic could come to her. She continued on, telling the dispatcher she had just driven up to the emergency room at Miami Valley Hospital.

The victim’s name nor their condition known Monday night.

It’s not clear whether the man was shot where the woman said she saw him.

We’re working to learn more from police and will continue to update this story.
