Dayton police investigating pedestrian strike involving RTA bus

Police are investigating a pedestrian strike involving an RTA bus at East First and Harshman streets in Dayton.

The victim is an adult male who was riding a bicycle. He has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, Dayton police tell us.

Police and medic unit were dispatched about 6:50 p.m. on a report of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian.

Passengers on the bus were off-loaded and put on a smaller bus. None of the passengers is believed to have been injured.

A woman, who identified herself as one of the passengers, said she believes the bicyclist hit the rear of the bus.
