DAYTON — Dayton Public Schools’ Females of Color: Girl’s Empowerment Day is set to kick off later this morning.
According to a release from DPS, this event will be held at the David H. Ponitz High School and feature motivational speakers, musical performances, and panel sessions that empower girls.

The first session will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for students in the fifth through eighth grades.
There will be music and mediation from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., along with an introduction from Superintendent Dr. E. Lolli starting at 9:15 a.m.
The second session will be for ninth through twelfth graders from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
News Center 7′s Letitia Perry is scheduled to speak at the event around 1:30 p.m.
