Dayton residents can expect to see increase in water bill starting 2023

DAYTON — Dayton residents can expect to see an increase in their utility bills starting next year.

At the city commission meeting Wednesday morning, commissioners heard a presentation from Michael Powell, director of the city’s water department.

Powell said due to investments in infrastructure upgrades and other market pressures city residents can expect to see an increased rate of around 7.8 percent on their combined water bill or around $18 more on their quarterly bill in 2023.

Powell continued to break down rate adjustments as an estimated $19 quarterly increase in 2024 and an estimated $18 quarterly increase in 2025.

Commissioners also looked at the 2040 comprehensive plan for the city, which is expected to be voted on next week.
