The Xenia Community Schools Board of Education approved an agreement to complete this first phase of the project at the stadium in December. This first phase is designed to address areas with the highest concern at the stadium, a spokesperson for the district said Friday.

Over the summer months, construction crews will replace six current light poles with four energy-efficient LED options and the structure at the top of the home bleachers will be replaced with a single-story press box with an open observation deck.

The seating will be replaced. Additionally, roughly 500 more seats for both the home and away teams will be added. During the renovation, the home and away sides of the field will be switched.

“This project has been a long time coming, and I know our student-athletes, coaches, and parents are as excited as I am to see it get underway,” Dr. Gabe Lofton, Superintendent, said.

A second phase of renovation at the stadium is slated for 2024. That phase will focus on constructing a fieldhouse with new locker rooms, concessions, restrooms, and additional parking.
