Demonstrators march in Dayton 1 day after Ohio judge blocks state’s ‘heartbeat’ abortion ban

DAYTON — Just 24 hours after a Hamilton County judge decided to block Ohio’s new, “heartbeat” abortion law, the Dayton Women’s Rights Alliance held an event Saturday at Riverscape Metropark in Dayton.

Attendees heard from several speakers ahead of a march to show their support for abortion rights.

They held up several signs saying, “Keep abortions safe and legal” as well as “Pro-Roe.”

Rallies took place nationwide Saturday, including Columbus.

Earlier this week, pro-life activists met at Ohio’s first-ever March for Life at the Statehouse, according to our news partner in Columbus WBNS TV.

The state is expected to appeal this decision which would then send this issue to the Ohio Supreme Court.
