Deputies arrest 2 Indiana men on drug, theft charges at Preble County truck stop

PREBLE COUNTY — Two Indiana men are in custody after deputies arrested them on drug and petty theft charges at a truck stop in Preble County.

Deputies were called to the Petro Truck Stop at U.S. 40 and I-70, where they found two males asleep in the vehicle.

Deputies were granted permission to search the vehicle, according to Sheriff Mike Simpson. During their search, deputies said they found approximately eight ounces of suspected methamphetamine and a small amount of suspected fentanyl. The street value of the suspected drugs found was estimated to be around $7,000.

They also found items that were later determined to have been stolen from the convenience store at the truck stop, as well as approximately $2,800 in counterfeit bills.

The two males, Christopher Russell, 39, and Steven Seckman, 35, both of Connersville, Indiana, were arrested and charges with Aggravated Possession of Drugs and Petty Theft.

Both men are in custody at the Preble County Jail.

The United States Secret Service is handling the investigation.
