GREENVILLE TWP., Darke County — A missing 3-year-old boy was found and rescued this afternoon.
The child was spotted sometime before 2 p.m. by a Darke County deputy in an area near the Greenville Creek, but due to high water it was difficult to get to the child. A deputy and Greenville police officer were able to reach the child and bring him to safety, according to a release from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy was checked by Greenville Rescue and returned to his mother.

The boy was being watched by a family member at his home in the 6400 block of Daly Road in Greenville Twp. when around 12:50 p.m. the family member realized the child was missing.
The family member contacted the boy’s mother, who called law enforcement to report her son was missing, according to the sheriff’s office.
Also assisting in the search was the Greenville Twp. Rescue Squad and Greenville Twp. Fire Department.
